Instead, let’s focus on the option below ADB.

What you need to do is scroll down to that setting and press the center button. By doing so, you’re granting your device the ability to install applications from sources other than the Amazon Appstore. This is an important step if we want to sideload Kodi onto your device. Just a heads up, a warning might pop up, letting you know that downloading apps from outside sources could be risky. Don’t worry; just click OK on the prompt. To go back to the home screen, simply press the Home button on your remote.

The great thing is, unlike with devices such as the Apple TV, you can always go back to the regular Fire TV home screen by pressing the Home button on your remote. So basically, you have the best of both worlds, with both Kodi and Fire OS apps living together peacefully on the same platform.

So, now that you’ve installed Kodi on your device, the next step is to make sure it’s easily accessible on your home screen using Fire OS. Don’t worry, it’s pretty straightforward! Just follow these steps:

1. First, let’s head back to your main home screen. To do this, simply press the Home button on your device.
2. Once you’re back on the home screen, press and hold the Home button. This will bring up the shortcuts for your Fire Stick.
3. Now, locate and click on the Apps shortcut. This will load a list of all the applications on your device.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the list. There, you’ll find Kodi. Since it’s the newest app you’ve installed, it’s automatically placed at the bottom.
5. However, having it at the bottom can make it difficult to access from your main display, especially if it’s not in your recents tab. So, we need to move Kodi to the front of your app list.

Moving Kodi to the front is key to easily accessing it from the main menu. Don’t worry, I’ll show you how to do it in the next step.

To get started, let’s go to the bottom of your list and highlight the Kodi tile. After that, click the Menu button on your remote (which looks like three horizontal lines) to view your options for the app. You’ll see three choices: Move, Move to Front, and Uninstall. Although you can move the app anywhere you like by selecting “Move,” I recommend bumping it to the front of your app list. This will put it directly on your home screen, as the first listing on the “My Apps and Games” list.
