It’s no surprise that YouTube is incredibly popular, especially for those who spend a lot of time online. Despite some communication mishaps in the past year, YouTube remains the second most visited site in the world, surpassing Facebook and trailing behind Google, according to Alexa Internet’s ranking system.

YouTube is your go-to destination for all things video on the internet. Every month, billions of hours worth of videos are watched on the platform. There’s an endless variety of content available, whether you’re into gaming, technology, politics, world news, makeup tutorials, vlogs, comedy skits, or home movies. It’s truly a website that offers something for everyone. The content you watch generates recommendations, allowing you to discover new and exciting videos.

However, when looking at the top YouTube creators, it becomes apparent that the most popular ones, aside from music video providers like VEVO, tend to be male-dominated. For example, the YouTuber with the most subscribers is PewDiePie, a channel focused on gaming, boasting over 61 million subscribers. In contrast, the most popular female creator on the platform, as listed in our roundup below, only has about a third of PewDiePie’s subscriber count. Despite this, reaching millions of viewers on a regular basis is an achievement that most TV shows would envy, solidifying YouTube’s status as one of the most popular destinations for video content on the web today. That being said, there are some incredibly talented and popular female creators on YouTube that are definitely worth checking out.

I have to admit, it took me quite some time to put together this list. There isn’t a readily available compilation of the most popular female creators on YouTube. It’s a challenge to separate the truly popular independent female creators from the music video accounts that dominate the most-subscribed list on the platform.

For this list, I focused on the number of subscribers and excluded the music video-based accounts (with one notable exception which I will mention later on). I also based it on a US-centric perspective, which means some non-English speaking creators might not be included (although there is one undeniable non-US exception on our list).

YouTube’s dynamic nature makes it a daunting task to keep track of the platform’s most popular creators, especially when it comes to identifying the top female video makers. However, we hope that our compilation of the top 20 female YouTubers will introduce you to some new voices on the service and shed light on the incredible work women are doing on YouTube, work that often goes underappreciated. While it’s possible that we may have missed a creator in our ranking, we made every effort to include as many diverse voices as possible on our list. Without further delay, here are the top twenty most popular female YouTubers on the platform.

Natalie is famous for her entertaining videos that cover a wide range of topics. She creates hilarious pranks, useful lifehack videos, and do-it-yourself projects. Additionally, she shares makeup and hair tutorials that her audience loves.

One of Natalie’s videos, titled “11 Pranks for Back to School,” has gained a whopping 50 million views and has been widely shared on the internet. Her regular uploads consistently receive between one and three million views each. But Natalies Outlet isn’t the only channel she manages. She also has a second channel called Natalies Outlet Dos, which is entirely in Spanish and has over half a million subscribers. At only 23 years old, Natalie is just at the beginning of her career, so expect to hear a lot more about her as her YouTube channel continues to grow in popularity.

Now, let’s move on to number 19 on our list, Jojo Siwa.

Can you believe it? Even at just 17 years old, I hold the title of being the youngest creator on this list. Pretty impressive, right? I was born in 2003, but despite my young age, I’ve managed to gather a huge following of young and tech-savvy fans online. My secret? A massive media presence that has caught the attention of many.

It all started for me back in 2015 and 2016 when I starred in two seasons of the show Dance Moms. Before that, I was featured on season two of Lifetime’s Abby’s Ultimate Dance Contest. Those experiences really helped me rise to popularity.

Nowadays, you’ll find me on YouTube, where I’ve built a dedicated fanbase. I create vlogs, prank videos, music videos – you name it, I’ve done it. My main YouTube channel recently hit the six million subscriber mark at the end of March, and my secondary vlog channel has over two million subscribers as well.

But that’s not all. I’ve also made appearances on Nickelodeon shows like Bizaardvarks and School of Rock. And as if that’s not enough, I also have my own line of accessories. So get ready, because you’re going to be hearing a lot more about me in the coming years. Keep an eye out for JoJo Siwa!

18 Tiffany Herrera (IHasCupquake)

Gaming is a huge part of YouTube’s community, with everything from live streams to let’s play videos. So it’s no surprise that one of YouTube’s most popular female creators, Tiffany Herrera, aka IHasCupquake or Cupquake for short, spends a lot of her time gaming. But she’s not just about gaming – she also does vlogs and cosplay videos.

While many popular gaming channels focus on just one type of game like Minecraft, Overwatch, or League of Legends, Cupquake likes to mix it up. She plays a wide variety of games and organizes them into playlists so you can easily find what you’re interested in. From creative games like Roblox, Staxel, and The Sims 4 to games with deep stories like What Remains of Edith Finch and Her Story, Cupquake has played them all. It’s no wonder she has over 6.8 million subscribers who are eager to watch her play her favorite games.

One interesting fact about Cupquake is that she has a twin sister who is also a famous YouTube personality. Niki and Gabi are known for their fashion and beauty content, and they have a combined subscriber count of over 17 million. It’s amazing to see how YouTube has created such a diverse and successful community of content creators.

Have you heard of Niki and Gabi Demartino? They may be twins, but they couldn’t be more different when it comes to their personalities. Each of them has their own separate channels where they share their own vlogs and content. However, their shared channel, Niki and Gabi, has gained an impressive 9.5 million subscribers to date.

Most of what they do on their channel is lifestyle vlogging. They love creating videos that revolve around fun ideas like swapping lives for a day, transforming themselves to look like each other, and taking part in various challenges. Their chemistry as twins is something that sets them apart from almost anyone else on YouTube.

In addition to their vlogs, Niki and Gabi have also released several music videos. They have showcased their own original music as well as covers of songs by popular artists such as Taylor Swift, Wham!, and Fifth Harmony. So, if you’re in the mood for comedy sketches, beauty tips, shopping vlogs, and creative DIY content, Niki and Gabi are definitely the go-to channel for you.

Alisha Marie is another popular figure in the YouTube community.

Hey there! Did you know that Alisha Marie has an absolutely massive audience on YouTube? Yep, she’s got over 8 million subscribers! I mean, that’s seriously impressive. What’s even cooler is how she got started.

Back in 2008, a few years after YouTube launched, Alisha became obsessed with watching videos on the platform. It was like her own little world. And guess what? She decided to jump right in and create videos herself. Talk about diving in headfirst!

Now, Alisha’s done all sorts of videos over the years. She’s done makeup tutorials, prank videos with her roommate, lifehack videos, and even guides on how to slay the social media game. She’s a jack of all trades, that’s for sure.

But wait, there’s more! Alisha also has her own vlog channel called AlishaMarieVlogs. Oh, and get this, it has over 3.1 million subscribers! That’s like a whole other fanbase right there. She uploads to her main channel about once a week, and let me tell you, her videos are top-notch. The production and editing are seriously on point.

On her vlogging channel, she’s even more active. You get to see behind-the-scenes sneak peeks of her regular content and a glimpse into her day-to-day life. It’s like you’re right there with her.

Impressed yet? Yeah, me too. But Alisha is just one of many YouTubers who are taking the internet by storm.

15 Lauren Riihimaki (LaurDIY)

I’m Lauren Riihimaki, and I create content online. You might know me from my YouTube channel, LaurDIY, where I share a lot of helpful how-to guides and do-it-yourself tutorials. I’m all about being creative, and it definitely shows in my videos.

On my channel, I’ve featured videos where I include my boyfriend, vlogs where I transform into my mom, trends in 2020 that you can try on a DIY budget, and do-it-yourself challenges that spark creativity and innovation. With almost 9 million subscribers currently, my channel is still growing. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert in crafts and creative challenges, my channel is the perfect place for you to join the crafting community and have fun.

14 Karina Garcia

Back in 2012, I set up my channel, but it wasn’t until about four years ago that I started making videos. One of my earliest videos was about making DIY lipsticks. Since then, I’ve gained a huge following, but it wasn’t until I discovered a peculiar trend that things really took off: slime.

I’m only 24 years old, but I’ve found my niche in creating slime-based projects. It’s a phenomenon that has captured the interest of many, and even companies like Elmer’s Glue have seen a boost in sales thanks to the passion surrounding slime crafts. I’d like to think that I’ve played a part in that, with videos like “Instant Snow Slime” and “DIY Giant Mesh Slime Stress Ball” reaching an impressive six and seventeen million views, respectively. With almost 9.3 million subscribers, my audience of slime and craft enthusiasts continues to grow.

Speaking of creators, let’s talk about Bunny Meyer, also known as grav3yardgirl.

Hey there! So, let me tell you a little story about Bunny Meyer. She used to be a clothes designer, keeping a low profile in the suburbs of Houston. But everything changed when she got into a car accident that left her unable to sew. Life can be unpredictable, right?

After leaving her old job behind, Bunny decided to start a YouTube channel in 2010. It was a way for her to share her experiences with the paranormal and also manage the anxiety she faced every day. Little did she know that her channel would take off and become something even bigger…

Now, Bunny’s YouTube channel has evolved. It’s not just about paranormal stuff anymore. She also talks about fashion, makeup, and all sorts of lifestyle gear. It’s a one-stop destination for beauty enthusiasts like you!

But let me tell you about Bunny’s most popular series – “Does This Thing Really Work?” This is something you definitely need to check out if you’re new to her channel. In this series, Bunny puts those As Seen on TV products to the test. She wants to see if they live up to the hype. And trust me, with over 8.2 million subscribers, Bunny’s channel has become a huge hit on YouTube. The quality of her content is just top-notch.

So, my friend, you really don’t want to miss out on Bunny Meyer’s channel. It’s where style, beauty, and fun all come together. Go and give it a watch!

Take care,

Mariale (Makeuplocalypse)

Hey there! So, let’s talk about Mariale, or as some of you may know her, Makeupocalypse. She’s a YouTuber based in the US who primarily focuses on makeup tutorials with a twist. From recreating Kim Kardashian’s iconic looks to transforming herself into real-life Disney princesses, Mariale’s channel has it all.

But that’s not all she does! Mariale also shares vlogs on her channel, where she talks about her experiences with Uber drivers, takes on crazy challenges like saying yes to everything for 24 hours, and even compares original cookies to their knockoff versions. With a whopping 13.4 million subscribers and counting, Mariale has built a huge community of Spanish-speaking viewers. So, if you’re looking for a makeup channel that’s not only Spanish-friendly but also offers lifehacks and other DIY tips, Mariale is your go-to gal.

Now, Mariale isn’t the only Spanish-speaking YouTuber on this “best of YouTube” list. Keep on reading to find out who else made the cut!

11 Eva Gutowski (MyLifeAsEva)

You probably know Eva Gutowski for a lot of reasons. She’s a big star on Instagram, with more than 11 million followers. She also has a show on YouTube Red called “Me and My Grandma,” and she’s even written a book about her life. But what Eva is most famous for is her YouTube channel, MyLifeAsEva. People Magazine has called it one of the fastest-growing YouTube channels out there.

Eva has been on YouTube since 2011, and she’s gained over 9 million subscribers as of now, in November 2020. And it doesn’t seem like she’s going to slow down anytime soon. She posts all kinds of videos on her channel, from reaction videos to vlogs and do-it-yourself makeup tutorials. She also does Q&A sessions, which she calls Q&Eva. Eva’s popularity has led to her making appearances on big TV shows, like Disney’s “Bizaardvarks” and MTV’s “Total Request Live” reboot.

Now let’s move on to another YouTube star, Colleen Ballinger, also known as mirandasings.

So here’s the deal, folks. Colleen Ballinger is not your average YouTube star. Nope, she’s the real deal. See, while most YouTubers stick to vlogs, Colleen took a different route. She created a character – Miranda Sings – and boy, did she stick to it. Miranda is a hilarious blend of talentless, self-centered, and fame-hungry. She’s been gracing the YouTube scene for almost ten years now, ever since she first appeared in 2008 as a spoof on all those cringe-worthy singers cluttering up the platform.

But here’s where it gets interesting. Miranda has come a long way since her humble beginnings. She’s expanded her repertoire to include parodies of music videos, vlogs, and so much more. And get this – Colleen stays in character for all her videos, even when she has guests like JoJo Siwa joining in on the fun. Isn’t that something?

But wait, there’s more! Miranda Sings didn’t stop at YouTube. Nope, she made her way to Netflix with her very own show called Haters Back Off. It ran for two seasons, people! And that wasn’t the end of it. Miranda also made appearances on The Tonight Show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and even the hit show Victorious. Talk about making moves.

And just when you think she’s done it all, Miranda drops a self-help book in 2015. That’s right, a self-help book. Who would’ve thought? This girl is full of surprises.

And don’t even get me started on her subscriber count. It’s skyrocketing. Miranda’s channel is getting closer and closer to a staggering 9 million subscribers. Can you believe it?

So, there you have it. Colleen Ballinger and her alter ego, Miranda Sings, are a force to be reckoned with in the YouTube world. They’ve got the talent, the humor, and the drive to keep us entertained. And hey, they’ve definitely carved out a unique path in this crazy online world. Kudos to them.

Now, who’s ready for some more Miranda magic?

I’m constantly amazed by the incredible popularity of Lele Pons, who has amassed over 17.3 million subscribers on YouTube alone. It’s mind-boggling to see her channel grow by 10,000 to 20,000 new subscribers every single day. Lele initially found success on Vine back in 2013, but she quickly transitioned to YouTube once Vine ceased to exist.

Since then, her fame has skyrocketed, with her YouTube channel garnering nearly 15.4 million subscribers and her Instagram account boasting a whopping 30 million followers. Lele’s content mainly revolves around comedy, and her videos usually last around 4 to 5 minutes. These aren’t just simple clips, though; they’re fully-edited sketches with engaging plots, complete with sound effects and scores that bring them to life.

Lele consistently puts out new videos every week, always keeping her audience entertained. Besides her YouTube career, she’s also known for coining the phrase “Do it for the Vine” and making appearances in popular music videos like Camila Cabello’s “Havana” and Blink-182’s “She’s Out of Her Mind.” On top of all this, Lele proved her writing talent by releasing her book, Before I Was Rich and Famous, which became a New York Times bestseller.

Now, let’s move on to another influential figure, Lia Shelesh, or as many know her, SSSniperwolf.

Hey there! You might recognize her as SSSniperwolf, but this young YouTuber made a name for herself by playing Call of Duty. She fell in love with gaming when she was only 6 years old, and now, in 2020, she has a whopping 23 million subscribers on YouTube.

Originally from the U.K., she moved to the U.S. when she was just six years old. She started her YouTube journey in 2012, but had to start a new channel because some people found her content questionable. But guess what? Reinventing herself worked like a charm, and now she has followers from all over the world, of all ages.

Not only can you find her videos on YouTube, but she also shares content on other platforms. And trust me, it’s not just gaming! SSSniperwolf has a variety of interests for all her fans to enjoy. Whether it’s thrift shopping, DIYs, reaction videos, or, of course, gaming, her YouTube channel is incredibly popular and keeps growing.

By the way, have you heard of Rosanna Pansino? She’s another amazing YouTuber!

Now let’s talk about Rosanna Pansino, a popular YouTuber who specializes in baking and creating amazing edible treats. With a whopping 12.7 million subscribers, Rosanna’s YouTube cooking and baking channel has become a huge hit among people who love making food. She shows us step-by-step how to make incredible cakes, cookies, and other delicious baked goods.

Rosanna is most famous for her show called Nerdy Nummies, which is a segment on her channel where she creates food inspired by popular nerdy stuff like Ready Player One, Red Dead Redemption, Tomb Raider, and many more. This show became so popular that she even published The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook in 2015 and launched her own line of cooking and baking equipment in 2017. Rosanna usually uploads one to two videos per week, showing her genuine love for what she does. And let’s not forget, the food she makes looks absolutely out of this world!

You gotta check out Rosanna Pansino if you’re into baking and want to learn some cool recipes. She’s definitely a YouTube sensation!

– 6 Bethany Mota

The first person on this list is Bethany Mota, a YouTuber with almost 10 million subscribers. She is incredibly popular for her DIY content, personal vlogs, and especially her “haul” videos that made her famous. In these videos, Mota showcases the fashion and style items she bought online, showing off her affordable finds.

But there’s more to Mota than just hauls. She also creates makeup tutorials, shares holiday treats, and takes us along on her Black Friday shopping sprees. Besides her YouTube channel, Mota has made a name for herself with her clothing line, launched in 2013, her music career, and her participation in season 19 of the popular show Dancing with the Stars. She achieved an impressive 4th place during that season. Although Mota hasn’t uploaded a video since February, she remains active on Instagram and Twitter.

5 Lindsey Stirling

Let me tell you about Lindsey Stirling. She’s a musician who stands out from the rest for a few reasons. First off, her channel is full of amazing music videos, but what really sets her apart is her talent as both a violinist and a dancer. The best part? She’s not tied down to a record label or the VEVO brand.

Lindsey first became famous when she competed on America’s Got Talent. She blew everyone away with her unique blend of classical and hip-hop music, all while dancing and playing the violin. Even though she didn’t win the competition, Lindsey didn’t let that stop her. She took that loss and used it as motivation to focus on her online presence. And boy, did it pay off!

Lindsey has released four albums and has gone on multiple tours across North America and Europe. She even wrote an autobiography and was featured in a documentary about her work. Oh, and did I mention she was on Dancing with the Stars as well? This girl is unstoppable!

But what really sets Lindsey apart is her YouTube channel. She continues to release incredible medleys, remixes, and original songs for her fans. Her channel is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates great talent, and it’s no wonder she’s a massive star online.

Now, let’s talk about Rachel Levin, also known as RCLBeauty101…

I gotta tell you, Rachel Levin, also known as RCLBeauty101 on YouTube, is an absolute superstar. I mean, we’re talking about over 14 million subscribers and counting! Can you imagine? It’s no wonder that the Philadelphia Inquirer, a local newspaper in her hometown, called her a household name among teenagers. And get this, she’s only 25 years old! Talk about a rising star.

Now, let’s dive into what Rachel’s channel is all about. Of course, her name already gives away one of her main focuses – makeup. But she’s not just your average makeup guru. Rachel has spread her creative wings and ventured into other exciting realms. For instance, she loves creating DIY guides that show you how to make all sorts of awesome stuff. Who doesn’t love a good Do-It-Yourself project, right?

But wait, there’s more! Rachel has even come up with some super entertaining shows. Ever heard of “$10 vs $1000”? It’s a show where she compares affordable $10 clothing with high-end $1000 clothing. It’s both informative and fun, and who doesn’t like getting fashion inspiration?

Another show she has is called “Feel Better”, which is all about spreading an anti-bullying message. I think it’s fantastic that she’s using her platform to address such an important issue. And, hold onto your tiaras, she also has a comedy sketch show called “Disney Princess”! Imagine the hilarious adventures and mishaps these princesses would get into in real life. It’s comedy gold!

If you ask me, Rachel Levin’s content is pure gold. It’s not surprising that she has such a massive following, especially among younger viewers. She’s got the humor, the creativity, and the charm to captivate anyone who stumbles upon her channel.

3 Lisa Koshy

Coming in at number 3, we have the incredible Liza Koshy, a true superstar both online and offline. Koshy’s journey began like many young YouTubers, creating Vines back in 2013. When Vine shut down in 2016, she already had a massive following of over 5 million fans. But she didn’t let that stop her.

Koshy swiftly transitioned her content to YouTube and quickly amassed a staggering 17 million subscribers. She continues to create captivating videos on her channel, though she’s taken a bit of a break in the past two months. Don’t worry, she’ll be back before you know it!

Liza Koshy’s talent extends beyond YouTube. She’s also making waves in other forms of media. You can catch her on the Hulu original show Freakish, where she shines bright. She’s also co-hosting TRL on MTV alongside the fabulous Eva Gutowski. And keep an eye out for her upcoming YouTube Red original series called Liza on Demand, premiering this May. It’s likely the reason she took a hiatus from her own channel.

Now, on to number 2, the amazing Jenna Marbles…

Out of all the people on this list, the one you probably know of is Jenna Marbles. She’s not just one of the most popular female creators on YouTube, but one of the most popular creators overall. With 20 million subscribers, her channel ranks 45th in popularity on YouTube, including international channels and VEVO channels.

Jenna has been active on YouTube since 2010 and has uploaded hundreds of videos with billions of views. Her content has been featured in articles by ABC News and the New York Times dating back to 2011, so it’s safe to say she has a massive following. On her channel, Jenna regularly shares new content following a vlog format that revolves around her life and what she’s up to. She’s also made videos about makeup, her dog, and even co-hosts a podcast called “The Jenna Julien Podcast” with her boyfriend, Julien.

Let me introduce you to our top YouTuber, Yuya. She’s a huge sensation with over 24 million subscribers worldwide. What makes Yuya stand out is that she’s not based in the United States like most creators on this list; she’s from Mexico.

Like other creators on this list, Yuya’s main focus is on creating makeup tutorials, guides, and showcases. She’s an absolute star in the beauty and style category. At the young age of 16, Yuya started making videos in 2009 after winning a makeup contest on YouTube. That’s why her original account name was lady16makeup.

If you don’t speak or understand Spanish, you might think Yuya’s videos are not for you. But wait! Don’t underestimate her impact. Yuya is a global sensation. Not only has she written two books, but she has also released her own perfume and makeup collection. And if that’s not impressive enough, she’s even joined a global initiative for gender equality through the United Nations, all before turning 28.
