Mastering iPhone Screen Recording on iOS 11

Hey there! Today, I’m going to show you how to harness the power of screen recording on your iPhone using the all-new iOS 11. It’s going to be a game-changer, so let’s dive right in!

Now, you might be wondering why you’d ever need to record your iPhone’s screen. Well, let me tell you, there are endless possibilities! Whether you want to capture your gaming skills, create tutorials, or simply save memorable moments, this feature will definitely come in handy.

To begin, open up your trusty iPhone and head over to the Control Center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, and there it is – the Control Center in all its glory. See that mysterious little icon, shaped like a dot surrounded by a circle? That’s the screen recording icon, your golden ticket to iPhone screen recording greatness.

Here’s the thing – the screen recording option might not be visible right away, but fret not, my friend. I’ll show you how to enable it in just a few seconds. Tap on the “Settings” icon, scroll down to “Control Center,” and click on it. From there, select “Customize Controls,” and voila! You’ll see a list of possible controls you can add. Look closely, and you’ll find the “Screen Recording” option. Tap on the green plus sign next to it, and it will be added to your Control Center.

Alright, now that we’ve got that sorted, let’s return to the Control Center. Swipe up one more time and there it is, your shiny new screen recording icon, ready for action. Give it a gentle tap, and you’ll see a countdown of three seconds. Get ready to flaunt your screen recording skills!

During the recording, keep an eye on the red bar at the top of your screen – that’s your cue that you’re recording. You can freely navigate through your iPhone, jump from app to app, and showcase all the features you want to capture. Whenever you’re done with the recording, simply tap on the red bar, and the recording will come to a graceful halt.

So, you’ve finished recording – now what? Well, you have a couple of options. You can either save the recording to your Camera Roll or share it with your friends, family, or followers immediately. It’s your call, and it’s as easy as pie. Just go to the Photos app, find the video, and tap on the share icon. From there, you can either save it or send it to the desired platform. It couldn’t be simpler!

Remember, my friend, with great power comes great responsibility. Screen recording is a powerful tool, but make sure to use it wisely and respect others’ privacy. Always seek permission before recording someone else’s interactions or sharing sensitive information.

And there you have it – the ins and outs of using iPhone screen recording on iOS 11. I hope you feel ready to take on the world with this incredible feature. So go ahead, explore the endless possibilities, and let your creativity shine through! Happy recording!

As a consultant, I spend a ton of time writing instructions. More than I’d like to admit, honestly. So, iOS 11’s new feature that lets me record my iPhone or iPad’s screen from Control Center is going to be an amazing addition to my tools. We’ve been able to do something similar to this for a while by connecting our devices to QuickTime on the Mac. But recording the screen directly is just so much easier and faster, especially when you need to show someone how to enable a feature in Settings or capture something cool your device is doing. Can you feel my excitement? I’m thrilled! Join me and let’s learn how to record your iPhone screen. Or your iPad, if you’re fancy like that.

To start using the built-in screen recorder in iOS 11, we first need to make some changes to our Control Center (you can now customize Control Center in iOS 11, which is pretty cool). Go to Settings > Control Center. Find and select the option called Customize Controls.

At the top of the screen, you’ll see the controls already in your Control Center. At the bottom, you’ll find the controls you can add. Look for the control labeled Screen Recording and tap the green plus icon next to it to add it to your Control Center. Once added, you can tap, hold, and drag on the three lines to the right to move it around and position it where you want among your other controls.

Once Screen Recording is added, close Settings and open Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. If you have an iPhone X, you can also open Control Center by swiping down from the upper-right corner of the screen. For iPad users, double-click the Home button to access Control Center.

With Control Center open, you’ll see the new Screen Recording icon in the position you set in Settings. Tap it once and you’ll see a three-second countdown before the screen recording begins. While it’s recording, you’ll see a red status bar at the top of your screen. You can switch between apps, adjust settings, and do whatever you need to record (you can trim the video later to remove unnecessary parts). To stop recording, either tap the red status bar or go back to Control Center and tap the Screen Recording icon again. You’ll receive a confirmation to confirm your choice.

Your iPhone screen recordings will automatically be saved to your camera roll, where you can view and edit them using the Photos app. From there, you can directly share them or transfer them to a Mac or PC for further editing and organizing.

One final note: this method of iPhone screen recording on the device doesn’t give you the sleek status bar look that you get when recording through QuickTime on macOS. This is good for troubleshooting because your final video will show exactly what you see on the screen. However, it means that recordings for other purposes won’t have the same polished look. If that’s important to you, you can still use the old QuickTime method if you have a Mac available.
