If there’s already a LINE_Backup folder on your phone, you’ll need to either delete or rename it for this step to work.
Step 4
For the final step, you need to download and install an older version of LINE and log into the same account you were using on your iPhone. Don’t worry, once you transfer the chats, you can easily update to the latest version of the app.
Once you’re in, either start a new chat or open the one you want to restore. Tap the down arrow in the upper right corner of the screen, then tap the Gear icon to access Settings. From there, select “Import chat history” from the menu.
If you want to restore your chat, just choose Yes and it will be done soon. Once it’s finished, click OK and your messages will be back.
Some Things You Should Consider
Remember to repeat this process for each chat you want to restore. Unfortunately, there’s no option to restore all chats at once, so make sure you have all the chats you need before updating the app.
After updating the app, you can export and back up your conversations by going to Chat Settings (the gear icon). This will export your chats as a text file.
