Cracking the Code: Boosting Your Tinder Elo Score

Oh boy, let me spill the beans on a little secret – the art of decoding and skyrocketing your Tinder Elo score. Buckle up, because I’m about to take you on a journey to become a master of the swipe!

Alright, let’s decode the mystery first. What is this elusive Tinder Elo score? It’s like your very own dating stock market value. Your score determines how your profile ranks amongst the vast ocean of potential matches. The higher the score, the more likely you are to land some swipes and ignite some sparks.

So, how in the world do we calculate this enigmatic measure? Well, my friend, I’ll let you in on the inner workings.

First things first, quality pictures are key. Let’s be real, appearances matter. Make sure those photos are sharp, well-lit, and show off your best self. A genuine smile never hurt anyone either! Present yourself in a way that attracts attention and leaves a lasting impression.

Next on the list is your bio. It’s your chance to shine, to let your personality shine through those words. Keep it light, witty, and authentic. Don’t be afraid to showcase your quirks and passions. After all, it’s your uniqueness that sets you apart from the crowd.

But hold up, there’s more to it than just good looks and an awesome bio. Engage with the Tinder community, my friend! Strike up conversations, show interest, and be genuine in your interactions. Remember, it’s not just about getting matches, it’s about making connections. And connections are built on engaging conversations and shared interests.

Now, let’s talk about a little thing called patience. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a solid Tinder Elo score. Keep swiping, keep putting yourself out there, and trust that the right match will come along. Don’t let the numbers get to your head – it’s all about quality over quantity.

It’s also worth mentioning that consistency is key. Regularly update your profile to keep it fresh and intriguing. Add new pictures, update your bio to reflect your current self, and stay active on the platform. By showing up consistently and putting effort into your profile, you’re sure to catch some eyes.

So, my fellow Tinderite, armed with these nuggets of wisdom, it’s time to tackle the dating world like a pro. Remember, you are more than just a score on an app – you are unique, fascinating, and deserving of a genuine connection. So go forth, swipe confidently, and let the sparks fly!

How To Calculate and Increase Your Tinder Elo Score

So, here’s the deal: long ago, Tinder used this thing called the Elo score system to rank how attractive its users were. Yeah, they basically tried to match people who were equally “hot” according to some theories.

This score, also known as the “desirability score,” used an algorithm to rank you among other Tinder users. If your Elo score was high, you’d get more matches. And you’d be matched with users who also had a high Elo score.

But, guess what? Tinder ditched the Elo score system and introduced a better algorithm a while back. Now they use slightly different factors to match users. Even though most of these factors are similar, the Elo score is officially gone.

In this article, I’ll tell you all about the algorithm and how you can tweak your profile to boost your chances of getting great matches.

Finding Out Your Current Score

To up your score, you first need to know where you stand. Unlike a Snapchat Score, Tinder doesn’t make it easy. There’s no number at the top of your profile telling you how attractive and desirable the app thinks you are (which is probably for the best, in retrospect).

Who’s in Your Deck?

First things first, go to your Tinder deck and start comparing the profiles you’re seeing.

Hey there! Are you noticing a bunch of repetitive matches popping up? Well, either you live in a small town or you need to amp up your score because it’s a bit low.

So, How Many Likes Are You Getting?

If you’re getting a ton of likes, that means your score is higher. These precious likes indicate that more people are seeing you and, consequently, you’re ranking pretty high on the “desirable” scale.

How Often Do You Use the App?

Hey there! Have you ever wondered how often you should be using the app to boost your score? Well, according to a press release from Tinder in 2019, I found out that using the app regularly is one of the top ways to increase your score. So, it seems like being an inconsistent user might lead to lower scores.

Can You Determine Your Elo Score?

You know, Tinder never really explained what the Elo score is. So, no matter how closely you followed their rules, you could never find out your precise attractiveness rating. The only way to gauge your score was by comparing it to other profiles in your feed.

Tinder

If you saw mostly attractive profiles when you first started swiping, your score was probably high. And if it took a long time for you to run out of new people, that also meant you had a higher score.

Since the new algorithm and the old desirability score use a lot of the same parameters, not much has changed.

How to Improve Your Score

There are several factors you should consider to increase your Tinder score. Here are the most important ones:

Be Active

Your Tinder activity is the most important factor for your rank. Even if your profile is perfect, if you’re not using the app, you won’t appear among the top profiles.

If you don’t use it at all, you’ll hardly show up on anyone’s feed. You need to be visible to other users in order to reach a high rank.

Don’t Swipe Spam

If you swipe right on everyone as if you’ll match with anyone, your score will decrease. The logic is simple – if you’re open to anything, you don’t need a high rank and access to top profiles.

Also, if you swipe too frequently, Tinder can lock your feed for 12 hours, which can negatively affect the algorithm.

The best approach is to swipe both right and left. But only swipe right if you find someone attractive. This way, the algorithm will rank you higher and match you with profiles that also meet certain standards.

Say Hello to Your Matches

If you match with someone on Tinder and don’t start a conversation, it will lower your rank. This shows that you’re not taking the Tinder game seriously, so someone else should be given priority. Of course, this only applies if you don’t have many matches to begin with. If you have plenty, you don’t need to talk to each one.

Don’t Reset Your Account

Currently, resetting your account frequently will decrease your score. So, if you need to reset your account due to a glitch or bug, go ahead. But if you reset your account just to start over, your ranking will suffer.

So, while resetting may be necessary at times, it should be a last resort.

Make Your Profile Attractive

The first rule of Tinder is to be attractive. You don’t have to be the most attractive person, but you can make your profile more appealing to other users. Update your bio, choose your best-looking photo, and stand out from the crowd.

Your rank heavily depends on other people swiping right on your profile. You need to give them a reason to try and match with you.

How Different Is the New Ranking System?

As you can see, the new ranking system is very similar to the Elo score. Despite Tinder officially calling it something different, there’s no evidence to suggest that it’s actually different.

Does Tinder Gold Increase My Score?

Not officially. However, considering what we know about Tinder’s algorithm, having a Gold subscription may increase your score because you’re more likely to use the app and interact with others since you can see who liked you. But paid users don’t get a boost just for subscribing.

How Does Tinder Know My Interests?

When you sign up for Tinder, you only provide your age and location. Unlike other dating sites, you don’t provide information about your religion or hobbies. There are theories about how Tinder knows your interests.

First, the app learns about your interests based on your swipe patterns. For example, if you consistently swipe right on people who enjoy hiking and swipe left on others, the app will assume you like the outdoors.

Another theory is that the app can assess your interests based on the photos you upload. If you have several photos at your favorite bar with friends, the app will assume you’re outgoing and fun. On the other hand, if you have multiple photos on your couch with your cat, it will assume you’re not interested in people who go out often.

I Got a Lot of Likes at First, Did My Score Drop?

A decrease in likes after creating a Tinder account doesn’t necessarily mean your score is lower. It simply means you got a boost when you first signed up.

When a new person joins Tinder, they get a temporary boost in exposure to potential matches. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Continue to Swipe as Before

Unfortunately, there’s no way to check your ranking other than how you feel about it. So, do everything you can to stay on the algorithm’s good side and hope for the best. Use the app as you did before, and you won’t have to worry.

So, be active, engage in conversations, don’t act like a bot, and present yourself in the best possible way. That’s the formula for a perfect Tinder rank.

One Thought on “How to Calculate and Increase Your Tinder Elo Score”

Is it possible that every time you swipe right, your rank decreases as well? I’ve noticed that if I create an account and don’t swipe right on any profiles for at least 24 hours, I get a lot more likes compared to when I create a new account and start swiping right on profiles (not spammy swipes, just normal behavior).
