To use any of these services, you will need to create an account first. Most of them require a paid subscription, with Spotify being a prime example. While there is a free basic subscription available, Alexa devices only support the Premium plan.

You can stream music on your smartphone or tablet with Alexa, or you can play it through your Echo device.

To start streaming, open the Alexa app and tap the hamburger menu. Then, select Settings and tap Music. If your preferred streaming service is on the list, log in to your account and start streaming. Here’s what you do: create a Google Drive folder for the playlist you want to play. Upload the songs. Then, create a My Pod account on mypodapp.com and add the playlist name. Remember, you’ll be using this name for your voice commands.

Next, go to Google Drive, right-click the folder you created, and select “Get shareable link”. Copy the “Full link URL” and paste it into the My Pod playlist page.

Finally, add the My Pod skill to the Alexa app. If you did everything right, your Amazon device should play the selected playlist when you ask. Just say, “Alexa, ask My Pod to play my [insert playlist name] playlist”.
