How to Change Your Background in Zoom
Hey there! Let’s dive into the exciting world of changing your background in Zoom. Believe me, it’s way cooler than it sounds. First things first, we need to make a few clicks.
Step 1
Okay, pay attention now. Look to the left of your screen and click on Virtual Background in the menu. Boom! A whole bunch of default backgrounds will appear before your very eyes.
Step 2
This is where the real fun begins. Choose the image that tickles your fancy and voila! Your background will change instantly. But hold up, we’ve got options here. You can go for HD video loops or regular images. It’s your call.
By the way, those video loops are subtle and attractive, so they won’t distract your fellow Zoom participants during the meeting. Pretty cool, huh?
Important Notes
Now, if you want to take things up a notch, you can even upload your own images or videos. Unfortunately, Zoom doesn’t have a fancy collection of images, but no worries! Just grab a nice video or image from a free stock website and it should work like magic.
Oh, and there’s something special for all you webinar hosts out there. Zoom has added a green screen option to make your virtual backgrounds even more professional. Just check the box that says, “I have a green screen” and you’re good to go!
Changing the Background for Location, Room, and Floor
Okay, buckle up because we’re going to get a bit more technical now. To change the background for a specific location, room, or floor, you’ll need to go through your Zoom web portal. Trust me, it’s not as complicated as it sounds. Let’s do this!
Step 1
Log into your Zoom profile and find your way to Room Management. It’s like navigating through a secret room, but you can handle it. Once you’re there, click on Zoom Rooms. Easy peasy. Keep going!
Step 2
Alright, you’re doing great! Now, in the Room Setting menu, look for the Room Setup. Can you see it? Good! At the bottom of the “Background image for Zoom Rooms” tab, you’ll spot the magical “Upload New Image” button. Give it a little click and prepare to amaze everyone with your fancy background.
If you decide to use your own image, you’ll be able to see a preview of it in the same tab. And there’s also a notification for using account settings.
Step 3
Once you’ve selected the image, click “Open” and it will become your Zoom background. If you change your mind at the last minute, you can click “Reset” or “Delete” and the app will restore the image to the default one.
Can You Disable Virtual Background?
The simple answer is yes, you can disable the background change for users on Zoom. However, accessing this option may take a little searching on the Zoom web portal, as it’s hidden among different menus.
Regardless, when you sign in, click on “My Account” and then go to the Profile tab to find more menus where you can access this option.
Hey there! So, here’s what you need to do. First, go ahead and click on the Settings option under the Personal tab. Once you’ve done that, make sure you’re in the Meeting menu on the next window. It’s a bit of a scroll, so keep going until you reach the “In Meeting (Advanced)” tab. And then, scroll a little more to find the “Virtual background” option.
Finally, you’ve made it! All you have to do now is click the button right next to “Virtual background”. Easy peasy!
Spice Up Your Zoom Rooms
Now, this is where things get interesting. With the Digital Signage for Zoom Rooms option, you can jazz up your virtual space when you’re not in a meeting. You can post a URL, images, or videos to be displayed. Here’s how you can reach this option:
Zoom Rooms > Select the location in the Room hierarchy > Choose Edit
Once you’re there, go ahead and navigate to the Content List. Here, you can select “Add Content” to upload URLs or images. You can choose content that’s already in your Library, select media from your local drive, or simply type in a URL. Cool, huh?
Now that you’ve done that, choose “Add Items” and hit “Save” to confirm. While you’re at it, you also have the option to change the “Display Period” and mute or unmute the content sound. Make it perfect for your virtual room!
Bring the Beach to Zoom
Now, don’t think that Zoom backgrounds and customizations are just for fun. They can actually be quite useful for professional purposes and can greatly enhance the user experience for webinars. So, it’s up to you to find a creative way to take advantage of this feature.
